No Justice, No Peace, is – unfortunately – as relevant today as when it was filmed. In April 2001, the racial climate in Cincinnati, OH, made the national news during three days of "civil unrest" following the shooting death of Timothy Thomas, an unarmed 19 year-old black man by a white police officer. The mayor declared a state of emergency, announced a curfew and threatened to call out the National Guard. This inspiring film examines the worldview and strategies for social change of four young people active in the Cincinnati movement for justice and equality.
"While I was watching No Justice, No Peace, I kept thinking this is like Selma, Alabama 40 years ago. I was amazed at how many themes weave through it and how the local focus reveals global issues. The visuals are incredible."
James Duesing, Director, Studio for Creative Inquiry, Carnegie Mellon University
"No Justice, No Peace is the most inspiring film I've seen about Social Activism in years."
Dr. Robin Kelly, New York University, Author of Freedom Dreams and Race Rebels
"No Justice, No Peace gives voice to an exciting new generation of young people involved in today's movement for domestic and global social justice."
Robert Meeropol, Executive Director, Rosenberg Fund for Children
"Well- produced, well-edited video. Highly Recommended"
